Dear Santa...

When it comes to Christmas presents I’m rubbish. If I see stuff I want I have a tendency of just buying it, therefore creating a list of things I want can be really tricky. Every year I try my hardest, but it’s always a small list. Therefore I thought I would share it with you, it’s a mix of beauty and non-beauty things. So lets begin.

Romance.

Rouge Allure Gloss.

Chanel -

Rouge Allure Gloss

In the upcoming fall season we will witness the launch of Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss, a new lip line featuring nine seductive shades with the intensity and luminosity finish of a gloss and the pigmentation or rich colour of a lipstick. Revealing itself in a click the new line of Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss is part of a bigger Chanel Fall 2014 Makeup Collection, which also features new lipstick and nail lacquer shades.
The shades names are:
Affriolant
Sensible
Extase
Suprême
Séduction
Pirate
Distinction
Exotique
Audace (Limited Edition)

I’m really excited to see these beauties in person as I spotted a couple of pinks that I just feel like I need to have. A rich and pigmented pink Allure Gloss is definitely something that I’m looking to seeing, swatching and wearing.
These are due for release on the 3rd October. First of all in Boots, but then they will go to other counters.

Mini-Boots Haul.

Recently I went to Boots to do some Christmas shopping. I tend to buy most of my presents for my friends from boots, theres always something for everyone, especially for those people your unsure about what to buy. Whilst there I bought a few other things, some were essential because I had ran out or not far off running out, others are things I've been eyeing up for a while and decided I couldn't walk past them any longer.
I'm planning on doing individual reviews on most of these, so I won't go into too much detail.

The essentials.
L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic Waterproof Mascara.
I normally have the original version of this mascara, however as its coming up to winter I thought the waterproof version would be better suited. It is amazing for giving incredible length, a curl that lasts all day and a touch of volume, which is exactly what I want from a mascara. I have never know it to clump, smudge or flake and the brush is so easy to use. I really don't like those thick brushes that some other drug store and high end mascaras have, I find them to hard to use, and don't find they always coat every lash. This on the other hand does an amazing job of making it look like you truly are wearing false lashes. Another thing I love about this mascara is that its build able without clumping, I use on coat for really natural luscious looking lashes during the day, then sometimes add other coat or two for really show stopping incredible lashes for a night out or when I'm going somewhere nice.

Batiste Dry Shampoo.
Batiste Dry Shampoo is the best dry shampoo I have ever used. Not only is the quality really good but its also really good value at only £4 and really easy to pick up from Boots and Superdrug. I know there are some other dry shampoos which are meant to be good, but are far more expensive. Nevertheless, I believe if its not broken then why fix it. It does the job and smells amazing. Currently I'm loving the 'Blush' version, which is really florally and leaves my hair smelling amazing. However I think next time I'm going to either get the 'Oriental' (warm notes of rite, flowers and rich coconut) or 'Floral' (delicate notes of blossom, rose, orange and peach) version, which are the newest from the brand.

Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pure Oil-Free Primer.
Not long ago I picked up the original version of this primer. I did at the time think this 'pure' version was discontinued because I couldn't find it anywhere, therefore I resorted to the original. Now. I'm not saying the original isn't amazing because it is, however this version is aimed at sensitive, combination skin, which sums my skin up exactly. The website states its clear (whereas the original has a strange pink tint to it,) oil-free, and helps to minimise and sooth rednessness whilst helping erase pores, fine lines and imperfections. Im really excited to try this because it sounds amazing. I will be writing a more in-indepth review as soon as I've gave it a good try out. Im expecting great things from this primer.

The not so essential.
Chanel Taboo Le Vernis Nail Colour.
I haven't actually ever seen a Chanel nail polish which really took my eye before. Normally I see one I like the look of, take note of the name and look for a dupe for it. The main reason for this is because I haven't always justified paying £18 for a nail polish. Lets be fair, its pretty steep even for Chanel. HOWEVER. This nail polish caught me totally of guard. Its been raved about all over the internet and I haven't ever seen a polish which could even come close to how amazing this is. I planned only to go to the counter to have a look at it, however it is truly amazing and I ended up buying it straight away. Personally I think its incredible. Its a rich, deepened red-toned purple with iridescent shimmer that reflects red, violet, pink and coppery-red. Seriously its like galaxy in a bottle!

butterLondon Petrol Nail Polish.
I have been waiting for ages for this to be released. I was actually worried it wouldn't look as good in person as I was hoping for, however it does truly look like petrol in water. Its a beautiful purple/blue duo which changes depending on the light. I've been reading a lot of reviews about this, and it sound amazing. I originally was planning on trying it as an overcoat on top of black, however some people say it looses some of its colour which I think could be the same for Taboo also if you used it for layering. Therefore I think I will try it alone and over different colours to see which gives the best result. Never the less this is something completely different from anything I have in my collection.

If there is anything specific you would like me to review in-depth first leave me a message and I will be sure to get it written and posted as fast as I can.

The Perfect Lipgloss for Summer.

CHANEL -
Levres Scintillantes Glossimer

If I could pick the perfect lipgloss for summer, I think that the CHANEL Glossimer in Mica would be the one.

Mica (131) is a really sheer peachy pink which is infused with a rainbow of glittery micro shimmer! The actual base colour is almost transparent once applied, and it is the shimmer that really makes this lipgloss come into it’s own…I can see pinks, purples, greens and oranges. In normal lighting (top photo) it just has a subtle pink sheen but once this hits sunlight (bottom photo) you get a gorgeous hit of multi coloured shimmer and sparkle!
It is ridiculously difficult to photograph, like most gloss's of this type, however, you can sort of make it out. Its much more beautiful in real life!

Chanel being Chanel, this looks really refined and understated and I am in love! I should note that this is a very subtle lipgloss, especially in the shade, so if you’re looking for something more noticeable then I would give this a miss! I actually love wearing this over my Dior Lip Glow (read the review here). The balm provides the perfect pretty pink base, and this CHANEL gloss adds the fantastic, amazing, incredible, show stopping shimmer.

The texture is like a light gel so the lipgloss is non-sticky and is neither drying nor moisturising. It has a doe foot applicator and glides on easily. The glossy finish lasts for about 3 hours, and the shimmer stays for a little longer and doesn’t feel gritty at all.
Overall I love love love this and whenever the sun comes out I want to wear it! For me it’s worth spending £21.00 on, but if you’re not a fan of subtle finishes then I’d look for something more pigmented! In the sunlight, the shimmer is really beautiful and the finish is subtle enough to wear on a casual and special occasion. Definitely worth a try!

Unsure.

CHANEL -
Le Volume De Chanel Mascara
I received this not long ago as a sample. To say its a sample its a pretty good size, and the packaging of the box it came in was stunning! I was really excited to try this mascara, because even though its new, I was hearing some pretty good things about it.

So what does CHANEL say...'Instant volume and intense curves from the first stroke with longer, plumper and thicker lashes. Lashes are coated in deep colour, giving eyes a wide-open effect. A shock result produced by the perfect union of brush and formula: The brush, creates volume thanks to its smart design of snowflake-shaped disks that are stacked and oriented for an ideal finish. The quick-drying fluid formula helps build a customised volume result. A flutter of seduction beats across the eyes as they become the expression of a vibrant personality.'
Now, isn't that something special to live up to.

Ok, so im not saying its rubbish...however it doesn't really live up to all the hype and the amazing description of the mascara. Lets start with what I liked about it;
- The jet black colour is amazing, it really makes your eyes pop
- The wand its ok, its not too hard to use like some other mascaras that take a while to get to grips with the wards
- It does make a difference to the length and volume of my lashes, however nothing extreme

HOWEVER...
- I found it very clumpy, and as someone who hates anything clumpy it really let the mascara down for me

For me, the fact it was really rather clumpy just ruined the whole experience of using this mascara. I did try it for a whole week, and every day the same thing happened...it ended up clumping my lashes together and it just ruined the whole look.
Sorry Chanel!

Beautiful Illusion.

Illusion D'Ombre De Chanel

Entwined with gold, bronze and platinum reflections, the iridescent and luminous shades of Illusion D'Ombre De Chanel can be used to create the most extreme, stylish looks or simply to caress the eyes with a veil of mother-of-pearl. The surprising sensuality of its silky, light and long-lasting powder to cream texture makes application a pure delight, as it glides on so evenly and beautifully.

I have this in shade 83, which is called Illusoire. It was the first one out of the collection which really jumped out at me and therefore it was inevitable that I would purchase it. I first bought this when they first came out, around September last year, however I fell in and out of love with it, sometimes it worked really well other times it didn't give the look I wished to achieve with it. However there is one thing I can not deny, the colour is just beautiful. Illusoire is a smokey mauve shade, which looks absolutely gorgeous when applied, its very subtle reflective shimmer is what makes this the most stunning out of all the shades in this range. The eyeshadow applies like a dream, I usually only use the brush provided or my own eyeshadow brush, because due to wearing false nails its really difficult to use with my fingers without getting myself into a complete mess.

I was really surprised at the lasting power of the product. It goes almost all say with only a minimal fading or budging, which is really good when my eyelids can become some what rather oily throughout the day.
Overall these are £23, and looking back I don't really think I would buy it again. Its beautiful, however I don't get as much use out of it in comparison to other eye shadows I have or which are available. Therefore I think once this has finished I wont repurchase another one. Saying that I have seen two other colours which are really pretty, but I'm not 100% I would rush out to buy them to be honest. It is a really good eyeshadow, but if your looking into buying one, I would definitely advice going to a Chanel store or counter and testing them out first before buying one.

Have you tried any of the Illusion D'Ombre De Chanel eye shadows...what do you think, are they worth £23?

Glamorous Glow.

Lumière Sculptée de CHANEL – Highlighting Powder

FACT this is the most beautiful highlighter I have ever seen in my life. Its a pale, ivory powder infused with a glimmering pink pearlscence, it is said to gently illuminate the skin, leaving behind the most stunning, sophisticated glow. I bought this just before Christmas, it was part of Chanel's Holiday 2011 Collection. Not only was it the crown jewel of the collection, it was also limited edition which made me want to buy it even more.
The box is rather traditional, black and gold and is rather large, however so is the compact. However the thing I love most about the packaging of this compact is that the compact itself comes in a velour sleeve, adding yet another layer of protection, making sure it doesn't get smashed in the process of carrying it around with you. This is amazing especially considering it was £50, and I wont be able to repurchase it.

The powder itself is breathtaking, the design is amazing and you can really tell some serious effort has been put into creating this compact. It comes in an over sized compact format, which is a hefty 13g/0.46oz, which is some serious product, which will last you a very long time. The angled brush included is OK, I haven't yet had chance to buy a new brush to use with it, therefore the angled brush makes do, its a decent size and really rather usable. The product has a delicate silvery over spray which basically disappears after a few swipes, while the raised pattern seems to be embedded rather deeply into the powder. At first glance I really thought this product was going to be far too light for me, and therefore wouldn't really do my face any justice. However I quickly changed my mind, once the over spray has been removed what you get is rather subtle, almost like a soft candle-lit glow which is totally stunning. Its enough to enhance your features and earning you the "second glace" which the creator of Chanel was ever so fond of.
Overall, simply looking at this highlighter, makes me so happy. I'd seen it in a few promotional photos, and really loved it, however seeing it in person made it very hard to resist buying it. As I haven't really used a highlighter before this was my first attempt and its definitely made me into a little highlighter lover, I really do think it makes a lot of difference to your make up just by adding a slight bit of highlighter to your cheek bones. It did take me a while to work out how to use it, and it was very much trial and error until I found out how to do it in a way which suited my face. However if your someone who doesn't want an obvious sheen, then this is not the product for you, but if its a more subtle glow your after, then i recommend you pass by the nearest Chanel counter, and give it a try (if its still available that is). Even though it was really rather expensive at £50, its limited edition and totally stunning, so it was definitely worth indulging in it.
