Blow Styling.

Tangle Teezer -
Blow Styling Hairbrush

“Introducing our brand new paddle hairbrush. For all hair types the innovative teeth allows for free-flow tension so there's no pulling and tugging. Excess moisture is removed from the hair shaft to guarantee a quicker blow-dry. Your style is left voluminous and shiny with reduced frizz. You'll be blown away by the results!” – Tangle Teezer

This year Tangle Teezer have added to their brush range! Say hello to the Tangle Teezer Blow-Styling Brush; a new styling tool created for anyone to perfect an easy, at home, straight blow dry, quickly and with minimal hair damage. At first glance it looks pretty much like a regular hair brush, but if you take a closer look, the teeth are designed to not only grip onto the hair better but so air is diffused around the hair shaft creating a smoother look in less time and on a lower heat.
So this is a rather clever brush that will make drying your hair much quicker with smooth and shiny results. As a blow drying novice (I’m a rough dryer by nature), this really works for me. I can act like I am rough drying (no skill required), using the Tangle Teezer Blow Styling Brush as I go. Just brushing, no tricks! When I first tried this I was really impressed – I often struggle to keep the hair on the brush when blow drying my hair, making it tricky and repetitive work. The teeth also stop the need to stretch the hair shaft when pulling down and applying heat meaning the hair shaft is less damaged. After testing out the product at home I can vouch that this tool does in fact make blow-drying your locks straight very easy and quick. Although if you favour a rounder blow dry with more movement you will have to add that in with a barrel brush at the end. You do get a rather volumous blow dry from this brush however I tend to favour a flatter blow dry. Whenever I have attempted to blow dry my hair before, I always find that the brush ends up really pulling! None of that here – its super gentle yet really effective. I didn’t really bother sectioning; I just brushed through all over and even flipped my head upside to get the underside. This would usually result in very out of control hair but I just kept brushing as I went and everything was super smooth.

Repairing Blow Dry.

Bumble and Bumble -
Repair Blow Dry

This serum-in-creme elixir for dry or damaged hair helps seal split ends and protects against heat, breakage and UV damage, too. Proven to help repair hair and keep styles looking healthy for up to 3 days.” – Bumble and Bumble
Not long ago I had a major hairdresser disaster, and even though it got sorted and I was left with very beautiful hair, it was in terrible condition. I have tried pretty much everything over the past few weeks to get it back into it usual amazingly soft and silky self, and nothing has worked. Until now! Bumble and Bumble Repair Blow Dry has become a form favourite of mine as its perfect for my hair as it helps to repair hair with every blow dry, with immediate and long term benefits. Best suited for hair that is in need of extra moisture and reparative care, this serum-in-creme helps to seal split ends for soft, smooth, healthy looking styles for up to 3 days. A conditioning blend including extracts from Rose of Jericho, hydrates and brings damaged hair back to life while hair repair technology helps prevent future breakage. This has a lighter consistency which dry hair will lap up. This is great for colour treated, bleached or damaged hair as it helps to repair the hair as well as allowing you to achieve a flawless blow dry.
Bumble and Bumbles blow dry does come in two other types. Straight Blow Dry was already in stores since years and the first one of the collection. It is a lightweight, heat-activated styling balm that helps to straight styles with movement. All-Style Blow Dry is for healthy, fine or oil-prone hair. This lightweight creme is perfect for a smooth, soft and frizz-free style.

Overall, this is amazing! It has truly transformed my hair for horrible to amazing in one simple step! I swear if anyone’s hair needs some serious TLC then you need to try this, its phenomenal!

Uniq One.

Uniq One -
All In One Coconut Hair Treatment

I have been looking at buying one of the Uniq-One treatments, either this or the original for some time. Hair care is something that I really enjoy swapping, changing and trying new things, mainly because unlike my skin it rarely react that badly to a product, or if it does a quick deep conditioning mask will fix it right up, whereas, if I was to do that with my skin, it would take me beyond a month to get it back to normal again. Another reason I love hair care is because the result is pretty much straight away, once you use a product you know then and there if its any good, why its good and why its not, there is no waiting a few weeks to see if the result, if there is one, is what you wished it to be.

Mend My Hair.

Umberto Giannini –
Mend My Hair Collection
Rebuild Strengthening Damage Repair Shampoo
This moisturising shampoo cleanses without stripping colour and moisture, rebuilds strength and elasticity of hair damaged by colour, heat and dehydration. With Pro-Vitamin B5, conditioning milk protein, liquid shea butter and ginseng extract. Sulphate free.”
This was the product I was most surprised by. It smells gorgeous, it has that distinctive Umberto Giannini scent (which I love) and it felt incredible when washing my hair. When I was rubbing this product into my hair I was really shocked at how nourished my hair was feeling straight away, the product itself felt like shampoo but my hair felt like it had conditioner on it. Even after washing the shampoo out my hair felt so nourished, it didn't feel dry or stripped like I find other shampoos do.

Recover Nourishing Damage Repair Conditioner
Recover and control parched and unmanageable hair with this super hydrating conditioner that detangles, smooths and strengthens and gives a daily nourishing repair boost. Created for hair damaged by colour, heat and dehydration, this moisturizing restorative conditioner with enriching avocado oil and milk protein that delivers superior conditioning and colour radiance.”
This smelt exactly the same as the shampoo and didn't feel any different to the shampoo either, just a thicker, creamier consistency. When massaging this through my hair, my hair felt the same as the shampoo did - really nourished, really soft and already really healthy. My ends are always dry and when I get out the shower they can look a little bit like broken bits of straw (yuk) especially if I let my hair dry naturally. I towel dried my hair a little and waited about 20 minutes for my hair to semi dry. My ends looked so healthy, they didn't look dry in the slightest!

I'm so impressed with this shampoo and conditioner!
They smell gorgeous and left my hair feeling and looking so healthy.

Therapy Intensive Damage Repair 5-in-1 Oil
“The perfect blend of oils and nutrients to deliver 5 results using just 1 product. Strengthens & repairs, smooths & softens, conceals split ends, tames & controls and adds shine.”
I used this once my hair was semi dry. It smells exactly the same as the shampoo and conditioner does and a little goes a long way with this product. It didn’t make my hair frizzy like some oils I’ve used and my hair dried super silky, shiny and it look super healthy. I also tried this through my dry hair after straightening it and it left my hair looking and smelling amazing.

I'm really surprised at how great my hair looks and feels after one use of these products not to mention how great it smells.

I’ve never tried anything from Umberto Giannini, however how I really think I’m going to try more from their range. Their Overnight Magic Hair Repair particularly intrigues me.

Have you tried anything from Umberto Giannini?

Mini Haul.

Recently I went shopping. Nothing major, just a little nosey around Sheffield City Centre. I picked up a few things, some new and some repurchases (as you know if I repurchase a product it means its something special). So i thought I would show you a few of the things I bought.

My first stop was The Body Shop. I'm currently really liking The Body Shop products, their really making my skin happy and I'm not getting as many spots as I would normally, which is a great thing. The main reason I went in was to repurchase their Seaweed Clarifying Toner, I wasn't too sure I would like this when I first bought it, mainly because I was worried it would be a little too much for my skin. However, its alcohol free and my skin seems to be really liking it. I use it morning and night and it really helps to remove any cleanser I haven't washed off properly or any pesky make up thats still remaining on my skin. I also find it really refreshes and cleanses without stripping or overly drying out my skin. I also picked up this toner in a miniature, its really great for taking traveling or when I'm going away for the night/weekend. Whilst there I thought I would also repurchase their Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter, I did originally just use this on its own as my face cleanser, however I didn't always feel it did enough for my skin. Therefore I just use it to remove my makeup (which it does amazingly) and then wash my face with my Cetaphil Cleanser which I'm really loving. The new thing I picked up whilst browsing around the store (bad idea), was the Seaweed Day Cream, which is what I originally wanted a few months ago, however due to not being able to find it online or in-store I bought the Aloe Day Cream instead. I do really like the Aloe Day Cream, however sometimes I find it a little too heavy, especially if its really warm outside. Therefore I thought I would buy this whilst it was in stock and give it a go. Its got so many rave reviews online and its aimed to Matte the oily areas of the skin, however moisturise those areas which are dry, which sounds perfect for my skin. I still think I'm going to carry on using my Aloe Day Cream on those day where it looks really cold outside, when my skins really quite dry, or on those days I'm not leaving the house and having a makeup free day just to keep it really calm and moisturised.

My second stop was to Superdrug, somewhere I don't always go. However, I had heard about the new Bourjois Instant Dry Nails drops, and I was incredibly intrigued to try them, and their not yet released in Boots. Its basically aimed to help your manicure dry faster without distorting or weakening the topcoat of your polish. The bottle says one drop on each nail and your polish dries twice as fast, which is pretty good. Also recently I'm having trouble  with my top coat of choice taking ages to dry, so I thought it would be a really good time to try this little product out. Whilst at the Bourjois stand I thought I would also repurchase their Magic Nail Polish Remover. My last bottle completely died due to the black foam on the inside ripping away due to using it to take off glitter polish. I have definitely learned from my mistake and will be using foils to take my glitter polish off first and then just using this to get rid of any remaining polish. I had so much left in the last one, it was just so messy to use due to bits of the foam coming off all over my fingers. Seriously anyone who wears nail polish needs to go out and buy this, its definitely a life changer. I can't wait for the new one to be released which allows you to remove your toenail polish as well, without disturbing your already perfect nail manicure.

Lastly, I nipped to the Toni&Guy salon to pick up my Label.M Large Round Brush which I ordered. I had hoped it would come with my amazing Redken Guts 10 (amazing product, you should really read my review on it here) as I ordered them at the same time, but there was a problem with stock, so it came a week later. Its made of both Nylon and Bore bristles which are really good for your hair, Bore bristles really help keep your hair healthy and shiny. I haven't used this brush yet, so I have high hopes.

All the new products I've bought I'm hoping to write individual reviews on when I've tested them out.

Have you bought anything recently which I should really give a try?

Guts.

Redken -
Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam

Recently I had my hair cut and coloured. Nothing too extreme, just a good cut and high and low lights to help it look fresh and healthy. Whilst their my hair dresser put an usual foam thing on my hair, I don't usually pay much attention to what she puts on my hair because were usually too busy talking about something else. However, afterwards I couldn't stop looking at how full and volumised my usually limp, lifeless and super fine hair was. The best bit is not only did my hair look amazing after leaving the hairdressers, my hair looked amazing the next day too. Therefore I had to find out what she had used in my hair, and thats where this little beauty steps in. I haven't ever used anything like this before in my hair, I was always worried that it would weigh it down and make it all sticky, but you can't actually tell that this is in your hair and the results are just amazing.

The description on the Redken website highlights this spray foam boost up hair with flexible fullness and bold, gutsy style. Directional spray allows for precise application. Lift up the roots or apply all over for volumes of attitude. Providing a lasting, natural and flexible feel.’
After washing and towel-drying my hair, I brushed out my hair with my tangle teezer, making sure not to pull too much. Then I applied the Redken Guts 10 spray foam to my roots all over my head, even on the underneath parts. The spray foam is kind of a different experience but I like it. You have to be careful with the spray because it can get messy if you aren't cautious about how you are holding the can and it will go EVERYWHERE!

Anyways…afterwards I dried my hair. If I’m feeling lazy, I just flip my head upside down and try my hair that way. If I’m going out or if I have a bit longer to dry my hair, I use my Toni&Guy medium round brush to dry sections of my hair, giving it even more volume. I really felt my hair lifting and thickening up. The results were amazing!

After using this I can say I really don’t think I’ll ever not use it! I love how my hair looks and feels when I’ve used this. If you love volume without the sticky feeling, or want something that works then this is definitely something to try. It does cost around £15, but its 300ml and totally worth it!
