Dior - Forever Compact Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear Makeup SPF 25
Recently i have loved my
bareMinerals foundation, however it’s not the best for taking with me and using
on the go. Therefore, i wanted something that was really good at covering pores
specifically but was compact and sturdy enough to take with me on the go. I did
originally use the Giorgio Armani maestro compact; however the case it came in
wasn’t very good and has inevitably fallen apart. So, instead, i purchased the powder foundation version
after swatching it, the assistant applied it and i truly fell in love with its
texture.
I love the case alone, its deep; ocean blue
colour with “CD” embossed across the case is so beautiful. The magnetic closure
is convenient and it feels secure and sturdy. The big mirror instead is a huge
plus because it’s functional and useful when i’m on the go or travelling. The
case does tend to get finger-printy; but so do all my other glossy cases. I
guess that’s what the velvet pouches are for!
My shade in the forever compact is 020 light
beige, and it blends beautifully and neutralises everything in one swipe. Dior’s main concept with all their foundations
is to promote the idea of “second-skin” finish. The products help achieve the
ideal complexion – flawless and bare-looking. The product claims to be
“customized luxury” since the foundation is supposed to “adapt to your body
throughout the day, allowing you to achieve an ultra-smooth, flawless
complexion.”
The powder is extremely finely milled – almost
to the point where the area around the pan gets powdery. The colour is forgiving
and adjustable because it works on its own once applied onto the skin. I
appreciate the coverage – it’s quite high for a powder foundation; yet, it
doesn’t look or feel cakey or powdery.
The foundation is supposed to be “infused with
skin-shaping skincare essence,” allowing the formula to “melt weightlessly into
the skin” while maintain moisture and oil control all at the same time. I
agree that skin texture is instantly polished and it feels soft to the touch;
oil control is pretty good – again, for a powder foundation. All in all, it’s
quite long lasting as well, too.
Another ultimate bonus is that it is in fact
refillable. The foundation itself easily pops out and you can refill it with a
new one. The overall compact itself retails for £36 however the refill is only
£28, which does make it considerably less, which i think is a great idea. Another
bonus of this is for those who tend to change shades of foundation from winter
to summer.
Overall, if you need something to make your face
look flawless in 5 minutes, take this. You don’t need ‘special instructions’ to
make it work, application with a sponge will do. Your face will look healthy
and beautiful, the redness and minor imperfections will be covered. I like
also how it smooths my skin. It looks absolutely lovely on the photos: no
excess shine, no white flakes. It doesn’t highlight pores it hides them. It is
not a light finish powder though, but you cannot expect a compact powder that
you can use instead of foundation to have a light texture. Its texture is light
enough to be almost invisible on the skin, let me put it like that.
